Throughout the history of what is known today as the industrial style, vintage light bulbs with an apparent filament were one of the first elements to create a workshop effect. Depending on your type of interior, you can opt for original shapes, from spherical to elongated. You can also install them in table lamps that leave the filament bulbs visible, so as to enhance the retro look of your light fixture. Originally, industrial Edison bulbs were used in factories at the beginning of the last century, where high ceilings allowed them to be suspended from long cables. The power of this industrial lighting was enough to illuminate a large surface, making them efficient sources of light. Nowadays, they are used in vintage interiors, but also in bars and restaurants: if you want to create a bistro style atmosphere, a retro metal suspension light with apparent filament light bulbs, together with bistro chairs would allow you to create an authentic ambiance. The choice of the cable for the suspension is also crucial: a "chain" format will give a very rough appearance, whilst the braided textile cable could be more aesthetically pleasing. Over a wooden shabby chic dining table, in the living room or in the kitchen, for example, you can hang three filament bulbs that can illuminate your central areas. They can be matched as well as mismatched: with different shapes, you are able to create an original and successful effect. Above the central area of the kitchen, a Scandinavian ceiling light with some industrial bar stools combine successfully with industrial filament bulbs. You can also put them in fixtures such as wall lamps or table lights without lampshades. With the latter you will reinforce the effect of your light fixture while obtaining a soft and warm light. The style of the retro decorative light bulbs has not changed much in order to maintain their stylistic coherence and thus today are able to save energy and last longer.
